Thermomix Hong Kong Basic Cooking Class Recipe and Step-by-step Guide to make Pita Bread

We can’t get enough of this soft, fluffy flatbread! This Pita Bread 皮塔餅 has been a kitchen favorite lately – perfect for stuffing with all your favorite fillings. Check out how you can easily make it with Thermomix®. Give it a try, it’s super simple!

Ingredients

1 tsp dried instant yeast 
or 10g fresh yeast 
270g Water 
1tsp sugar 
1 tsp olive oil 
500g bread flour 
1 tsp salt 

Steps

  1. Place dried yeast, water and sugar into
    mixing bowl and warm 1
    min/30sec/37°C/speed2.
  2. Add olive oil, bread flour and salt and knead for 3 min. Transfer dough in a bowl, cover with cling film and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (approx.. 1h). Divide dough into 7-8 pieces, form each into a ball
    and allow. to rest for 15 minutes. With a rolling pin roll each ball into a flat circle and allow to rest for a further 15 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, preheat oven and baking tray to 250°C.
  4. Add salt and knead for another 2min.
  5. Place 2-4 dough circles onto preheated baking tray and bake for 4-5 minutes(250°C) until puffed up or pale golden. Repeat with remaining dough. Transfer hot pitta breads onto a plate and cover immediately with a dry kitchen towel to keep them soft. Allow to cool before serving.
